Day 148
There was a large truck and this was sitting outside.
This is how it looked when it was inside.
I think they spent a large portion of the day hauling all of that into the house. They had to do it one at a time by hand. We're excited for it going up.

The Walls Are Closing In
Day 147
They went crazy today and insulated all the exterior walls and ceilings!
They went wild in the kitchen and they also put up the plywood on the far wall.
Even the office got some treatment.
The bedroom got some too. The ceiling is insulated with recycled denim to cut down the noise when people (i.e. the kids) are stomping around upstairs.
The bathroom also got it too. I don't want to be cold in there.
Meanwhile on the outside, they finished the chicken-wire for the whole house. Just imaging yesterdays pictures but with chicken-wire over the whole surface
I don't think they will be able to spray stucco anytime soon, though. We added one more window and it has not arrived yet. That window will need to be installed and trimmed. Then they can spray the stucco. I imagine we'll have drywall up before the week is over. But I have been wrong before, lots of times.

The vaulted ceiling has some sort of reflective panels that were glued on with insulating foam.

The Last Stand Of The Ceiling
Day 146
So that last bit of drywall for that ceiling finally came down.
I thought it was silly that they just didn't take down the whole ceiling in the first place. I found out that it was a running joke with the workers as well. We had a good laugh about it.
The plumber was here. Here's a new gas line for the stove.
Valves for the kitchen sink.
Valve for the refrigerator.
Valves for the downstairs bathroom sink.
There's more framing around the heating ducts.
The heating unit now looks like this. I'm not sure where the filters are supposed to go anymore.
And we have doors!
These are for the closets and pantry.
We have some new holes in the wall. Not sure what they were looking for but there they are.
And now for the outside. They are prepping for stucco.
Not sure what the schedule is but maybe stucco by the end of the week? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Caged In
Day 143
Not a lot of exciting things today. They're getting the last few things ready for sheetrock. Today it was prepping the recent heating ducts so that they can be hidden.
These are the tubes running through one bedroom.
The laundry room.
And the hallway.
The thing about the sheetrock is that everything needs to be inspected before things get sealed up. I hope they don't run into any big surprises.

Follow The Trail
Day 141
The venting guys were here stuffing and bending large silver tubes into various places.
This segment goes from the heating unit in the laundry room to the right and into . . .
. . . the bedroom, where it just passes through to the . . .
. . . closet, where it bends around to go thorugh the . . .
. . . small hallway between the master bedroom, bathroom and closet, where it exits to . . .
. . . the office vent . . .
. . . the bedroom vent . . .
. . . and the bathroom vent.
They also removed some more drywall. I'm not sure why. It definitely drives my allergies crazy.
And finally, the hauler came and took away a lot of rubble.
I guess it'll be a while before I have to mow the lawn. Especially because there will probably be another big pile on there before long.

Totally Tubular
Day 140
The vent guys were here so there was lots of tubing installed.
It feels like I'm in some NASA program.
Lots of electrical clean up was done as well. Remember all those hanging wires? They look like this now.
This also took a bit of discussion as some support pillars got in the way of the sconce positions that we wanted. In the end, it all worked out.
The side of the stairway was also looking better and looks ready for drywall.
This area is really complicated as there are going to be lots of outlets, the sink, the fridge and the dishwasher.
Now looking outside, we have our bathroom vents.
Our new door also got a trimming.
And finally the part of our house that is still growing.
That's big but at least I haven't had to mow the lawn in months!
